![]() DISTANCE: 7.31 km DURATION: 1:07:56 Spring rain will soon bring us flowers, Marley! But in the meantime, we found plenty of wet and damp earth this morning. In North Glenmore Park, spring appeared to be slowly revealing itself and we did make a few mini-detours to avoid the mud, decaying leaves, and other spring schmaltz. But in fairness, some dirt was inevitable so we zipped along a long stretch of grass to help wash that away. After, I started to feel water in between my toes, I knew Marley must have lost most of the mud between his. We topped off our time with a good scrubbing with a towel at the front door, a good hug and kiss, and a cookie. Enjoy the rest of your spring day, Marley. The scoop: 2 poops, 8 pees. Runner: Sheri

![]() DISTANCE: 10.42 km DURATION: 1:07:37 The girls usually greet me at the door but today’s greeting was with extra excitement. Gibbons was barking, and Toki was literally jumping for joy! I couldn’t help but laugh at these two. We ran around the house a little to relieve some steam and then got harnessed up to go. The path where we usually do a turnaround due to snow was free today and (of course) Toki was keen on seeking new adventures. We took it down under a massive bridge by the river with campsites, fire pits, canoe rentals and parks. I have lived in Calgary most of my life, but I didn’t even know this place existed! So fun to find new running paths. I tried to stop and catch photos but Toki and Gibbons were very excited about all these happenings and so I had to get them under control. We snapped a quick picture before we headed back up to our normal trail. I am thinking we will come back tomorrow and try and take more pics for the blog. Otherwise amazing day! The scoop: Gibbons had many pees. Toki had a poop on the run… it came out of nowhere, mid-stride!! The poor girl was so excited she forgot to pause for number 2. She also had a few pees. Runner: Tara ![]() DISTANCE: 11.17 km DURATION: 59:13 Happy Monday Lincoln! It's the last day of April, so hopefully May will actually bring with it nice Spring weather. As for today, we were stuck with dreary and chilly conditions. But Lincoln has proved lately that he knows the key to staying warm, and that's to go fast! Lincoln and I have been running together consistently for quite awhile now, and I recently looked back at our history. On average, Linc and I are running about 30 seconds per kilometer faster now! Wow! It doesn't matter if we are on trail or pavement, flats or hills, Lincoln and I have become a speedy duo! Today's run was pavement with a long hill climb and Linc kept the pace up the entire way! Great job buddy! Also of note was the cat that Lincoln and I encountered... Lincoln does not like cats!! Dog business: 1 poop and many pees. Runner: Kathy ![]() DISTANCE: 7.58 km DURATION: 55:21 Today was Kahlua's first official full-hour DGR run, and I had the honour of accompanying her! This seven-year old Lab X started at an impressive pace. She doesn't pause or sniff much. She just trots along looking so happy to be out running! At the half-way mark, she was slowing down a little so we took a couple of breaks by the river. I think she was thinking the water looked a little murky after the weekend's rain. We took it at a gentler pace on the homestretch, finishing with a nice cool-down walk coming down from Mount Royal. Once home, after a bit of a wipe-down, she headed straight for her civilized water bowl and took some big gulps from it. Great job on your first DGR run, Kahlua! Scoop: one poop and two pees. Runner: Tammy ![]() DISTANCE: 9.26 km DURATION: 59:55 Happy Monday, Nell!! We chased the rain today and followed a very big dark nasty cloud our whole loop! Luckily for us, it was nothing but sunshine over top of our heads. It was a beautiful evening for a run. Nell's mom accidentally had me on speaker phone earlier today so Nell had been impatiently waiting by the door all afternoon, she could not get out fast enough!! Her excitement for running is what I have been waiting for all day. Thanks for the speedy run Miss Nell, I'll see you again Wednesday! The scoop: 1 pee. Runner: Paige DISTANCE: 7.18 km DURATION: 1:02:01
I was greeted by one bark and a long sniff and then Reilly accepted me as her runner today! What a beautiful demeanour! She patiently sat while I attached her to my waist. Not being familiar with Montgomery, I didn’t venture too far from her home. Although I must say, we zigged and zagged all over the community! For every hill we happily went down; we slowly went back up! Reilly had a few stare-offs with some well camouflaged rabbits and a silly squirrel. Her leash behaviour was wonderful. As we passed other dogs in their yards suntanning (lazy pups!), Reilly happily looked over but kept very focused. We met a nice man who took our picture and told me what a beautiful and gentle girl Reilly is! When we returned home, I made the mistake of unclipping Reilly before going inside. She decided she wanted to lay in the dirt behind the bush. Good thing we climbed all those hills, The treats were needed to convinced her inside was the place to relax! Thanks for showing me around Reilly! Scoop: 1 poop, 4 pees. Runner: Cayley ![]() DISTANCE: 7.06 km DURATION: 57:18 We beat the rain! There was still some puddles that Lucy tried to drink from but she was definitely loving the light breeze! It made running much easier. We decided to make a deal after the end of every run that while I stretch, I will rub her belly, so it's a win-win situation. The scoop: 1 poo, 1 pee. Runner: Jacqui ![]() DISTANCE: 10.00 km DURATION: 1:04:08 Once I realized that the Crowchild pedestrian bridge across the Bow River was closed, my planned running routes needed to be altered. Instead, Kayto and I stuck to the south side of the river and spent more time in Edworthy playing with sticks and other dogs. It was definitely a great day to run with the glorious not-too-warm but not-too-cool weather and it was made even better with a splendid running partner. Kayto, you truly are a joy to run with. I'm very glad we could find you a stick today. The scoop: 1 poo, 5 pees. Runner: Noah ![]() DISTANCE: 2.02 km DURATION: 22:27 Hello Miss Callie! Long time, no see! Today she greeted me not only with her big smile and butt wag, but some high fives too! We walked a different route, and she was motoring, in between her snack breaks of bunny nuggets. We played around in the green space. I love how Callie still has puppy-like playful moments! You're as young as you act, right Cal? Scoop today: just one pee. Walker: Tammy ![]() DISTANCE: 6.20 km DURATION: 1 hour It was great to spend time with Zeke today! I gave him some TLC as we ran today as he is still timid and needs encouragement to keep moving! Half-way thru the run, he decided he had enough and was pulling back at times toward home but I would give him some loving and keep moving! He likes to stop and sniff the grass, I give him little breaks along the way and then we keep on moving! He is such a sweet boy and I'm looking forward to spending more time with him! He had 3 pees and 1 loose poop . Runner: Oxana ![]() DISTANCE: 3.68 km DURATION: 36:23 Today turned out to be a far better temperature for the dogs than our previous outing. I didn't hear nearly as much panting after starting our jog, and was pretty sure they would be more enthusiastic about playing and chasing each other than when it was more than 20 degrees out. At first Bex needed time to roll in the grass and sniff around. Once she was off-leash, something triggered her and Chester and I finally managed to get play wrestling going! The peaceful park didn't sound all that peaceful while they barked back and forth at each other. Although the weather was perfect and I wanted to go further with the dogs, I decided to cut it short to conserve energy for my first soccer game of the season tonight! Looks like tomorrow will be great for a fast run. Even a bit of rain wouldn't hurt. I'm sure Chester and I can handle it! See you then buddy! The scoop: 2 pees, 1 poo. Runner: Nathan ![]() DISTANCE: 9.22 km DURATION: 1:21:16 DISTANCE: 0.91 km DURATION: 15:12 Happy Monday M&M! Mira had plans for us today. We missed our coulee crawl on Friday so I came prepared. With my trail shoes on, Mira and I hit the trails with great enthusiasm!😊 Mira and I both appreciate 4x4-ing even if it was a bit of a sloppy mess. We got lost in our surroundings again today, but when your in the coulee it’s almost a magical place. It is so peaceful with just the sounds of nature and the roar of the creek rushing on through. Yes the creek, it’s quite high so that meant a lot of jumping (for me) and my friend thought we were playing a game😳😂 Needless to say, I didn’t make it out dry! No worries, we made it back to our friend Mully for a short walk around the block. He’s not feeling his best but we should all learn from him. It just seems no matter what he goes through, he’s always happy. Way to go Mully! Thanks for the enjoyable coulee crawl today Mira! 2 poos and many pees for Mira; 1 poo and 2 pees for handsome Mulligan today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 10.03 km DURATION: 1:12:43 I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date... Oh my, oh my Deerfoot plus and accident caused me some timing trouble today, but I made it! I woke Miss Freckles up from a nap. She seemed very confused and a bit lazy when I arrived. Well that changed. We had a great sunshine run this afternoon. One of our best runs. When I took her home, I gave her some treats and had to use her washroom for a human pee break. When I came out Freckles was gone, nowhere to be found! Another nap I thought! Well, Freckles I wouldn’t hire you to be a guard dog because I believe you would sleep on the job. 😂😂 See you tomorrow! I will be on time, maybe even early! 3 pees, 1 loose poop and 5 doggy barfs from drinking water too fast. Runner: Audra ![]() DISTANCE: 3.65 km DURATION: 51:19 Many thanks to Kacie and Pink’s mom for letting me know about the really nice off-leash park very close to the house!!. We took the long route and eventually made our way to the small pathway, up the hill and Voilà a slice of peacefulness surrounded us. There were many dogs and walkers out enjoying the fresh air, much to Kacie and Pink’s delight. A little bit of play and lots of freedom was the ticket for a successful walk. I truly lost track of the number of pees Pink had today while Kacie had 6. Kacie had 2 poops and Pink had 1. Runner: Liz What an interesting weekend of weather with a Summer-like Saturday and a Fall-like, rainy & cool Sunday. We had Jasper for the weekend so we had a few outings to River Park. I bet you can already guess which day he preferred. On 23C Saturday, Jasper, Teddy and I met up with dog friends Donald and Keno and headed straight to the river for a dip. Jasper got so warm that he spent most of the rest of the day in the shade in my backyard. On Sunday, we got a cool wind so Jasper was quite happy running along Sandy Beach with the wind blowing in his fur. It was a pretty relaxing weekend but Jasper did get lots of TLC from my 3 sons. Thanks again for the visit sweet boy! I have decided my favourite Jasper pose is when he lies down with his big paws out in front; it is so adorable!
