DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 28 minutes There’s only one word to describe today’s adventure with Mira and Nova..... SWEATY! Despite the chill in the air due to the cool wind, it didn’t take long before I was stripping my layers off! I would have liked to take more clothes off but that would have been rude (sorry for the mental picture) The gals and I cruised along nicely today. After a while, my friends were on the hunt for piles of snow and puddles which brought us back to the abode for snacks and sleep (well, I’m going to nap that is) Thanks for a delightful time today ladies! 2 poops and many pees for Mira; 1 pee for Nova. Cheers and have a fantastic EASTER! Runner: Tracy

DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 10. 1 km DURATION: 1 hour 44 minutes It was a Two-Year-Old New Girlfriends Pup Day🐾. The game plan was to introduce Miss Reba to my wire-haired dog Aoife. They did smashingly together. The ‘horsepower’ behind these two 2-year olds was powerful. I was more than grateful for this when going uphill and headfirst into the wind. Both dogs seemed happy to trot by my side on the last kilometre. I think this is the start of a budding ‘Sisterhood’.💕The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop, 3 pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7K DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Here comes the sun! We took a day off in the stormy weather but we're back and ready to run. Gibs came on our warm-up around the lake (even though my GPS didn't record it. Then, Toki and I took off into the hills. We both wore our matching Grey hoodies and ran our hearts out. We went back around the two lakes again until we looped back home. I know the 3 of us hope the wind dies down and the sun is here to stay for our future runs. The Scoop: Gibs had 1 poop, many pees. Toki had 0 poops, many pees. Runner: Tara DGR RUN OF THE DAY
DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 36 minutes Great fun was had today with Miss Lyla! It was a slower pace for our run, so Lyla and I enjoyed some games to increase our pacing. We played “catch the rolling snowball” and “run with a stick”. We had lots laughs enjoying our time out today. Many people out walking were laughing watching us play our “games”. Lyla was very well mannered on our outing today. No one could ask for better company. The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Dru DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes Lincoln was so excited to get running today he was doing a happy dance at the door. It was a little cold to start but we warmed up quickly and it was a great run. He was perfect running beside me and we hardly saw anyone outside. Thanks Lincoln! The Scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 46 minutes It was chilly to start but warm and sunny to finish. Sully has a doppelganger! As he and I started some off-leash time in Edgemont, we turned the corner to see Bailey who is a 4-year-old Lab. Sully looked at her, Bailey looked at Sully 👀. The two humans both said “they are twins”. It was just a must to stop and chat, take photos and let these two have some time together. We said our goodbyes and headed over to Nosehill to meet up with Aoife. Sully for sure had his fair share of girls today😂. The Doggy Business Report: 2 poops, several pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 10 minutes Brrrr! That wind was crazy today! We tried to stay between the houses where it was more sheltered and went at a pretty slow jog because it was icy on the sidewalks. The good news is that it was Murphys preferred speed so we didn't need any sit-down breaks. Haha! There was one bunny that got both dogs excited but I think that was the only thing (person or beast) that we saw today. Thanks Murphy! The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 12 minutes What a difference a day makes in Alberta. It was chilly, snowy and icy this morning! Both Winter and Kona were quiet when I showed up today, I imagine they were snuggled in cuddling with family and weren’t all that interested in braving the weather. Winter and I went around the lake, carefully treading over wind swept ice. She was enjoying the outing except when we were headed north as the wind hit us straight on. Kona and I circled around the quiet schools and pond. Kona loved that there were snow drifts that she could enjoy with many mouthful. The Scoop: Winter had 1 pee, No other business to report. Runner: Brenda DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.1 km DURATION: 1 hour It was a blustery one out there, Toto! The main objective for today’s run was to avoid getting wind blasted as much as possible. Kahlua and I tried to seek shelter by running alongside buildings, but that sometimes turned into a full-on wind tunnel. Oh boy, was it chilly! For a majority of the run though, Kahlua was able to draft behind me which made it more enjoyable for her. We took breaks often and slowed our pace when we came across slippery patches on the pavement. The Scoop: 3 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Lucia DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes What a great run today with Pepper and Biscuit! Biscuit, Pepper and I felt as if we were in a reenactment of the Wizard of Oz, with the strong wind Calgary is experiencing. We were excited to be whisked away to Oz. Both Pepper and Biscuit were great listeners on our run, only barking once. Our pace was slower today to accommodate for icy paths, however, that did not stop us from enjoying our time outside. Lovely to see the two pups again. They are truly wonderful. The Scoop: no poops or pees. Runner: Dru Ready for some weekend feels with Jasper? He was pretty excited to romp around in the backyard with my dog Teddy. This led to some indoor couch time and each dog finding a stuffy to chew on. Teddy was pretty good about sharing his toys. Jasper and Teddy were pretty cozy and settled when Jasper's regular runner (my son Ryan) arrived after teaching dance. Jasper was over the moon to see him. On Saturday, we woke up early and hit River Park right away. We were the first car in the lot of the off-leash section by Sandy Beach so we claimed the turf and played in the open wide spaces. The boys ran in and out of the water and we also walked along the ridge-line trails. Saturday night was movie and pizza night for the humans so there was lots of cuddling. The boys woke up Sunday with lots of energy so my husband and I took them on a long outing (6K) through Weaselhead. We found a tee pee for a photo op and of course, Jasper found lots of isolated snowbanks to roll in and cool off. All in all, it was a packed weekend with lots of dog time for the mix of RnR (rest and romp).
Pet Sitter: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 3.7 km DURATION: 59 minutes It was a good outing today with my new friend Kali. It was another weekend walk-about with Kali and she continues to shower me with kindness and warmth every time I come to pick her up. Kali is such a sweet dog to take out and the weather could not have been much nicer this afternoon. It was a little chilly, but it was great dog walking weather. I hope Kali has a great rest of her weekend and rests up even more for our next time together. Good job today Kali! The Scoop: 2 pees. Runner: Alex DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 44 minutes Friday means ‘Fun Day’. Reba and I hit Nosehill and it was like we had the whole park to ourselves. Reba burrowed her nose into the snow and all the luscious scents. She caught the whiff of a rabbit and then she saw it. Wowza, you can tell by her pose of the cocked leg and then up on her hind legs pointing it to me. Amazing to witness. Reba insisted we take a stick along for a bit of weight training along the way. Great way to start the weekend. 🐾The Doggy Business Report: 3 pees, 0 poops. Runner; Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 4.3 km DURATION: 55 minutes Good morning Mr Conor! Today, you got to enjoy to go first. because Miss Princess Leia decided to go on a holiday. We will miss this little lady; especially my dog Kopeck. Today, we took the lower trails. When we all thought spring was around the corner, here we are getting sprinkles of snow these last few days. It is a reminder that winter is not over. The trails were covered in snow to the delight of the kiddos. Today was a special day as it has been a year since Shadow left us.. I took time to tell Conor some of “the blue dog” stories...🥰🙏 Like a good boy Conor is, he listened. We had to come back a bit early per daddy’s request. It is ok Conor, we will go longer next time around!! The Scoop- Conor has a 1 poop and 3 pees. Runner: Fab |
