Jasper had a weekender at The Everetts and it sure was FUN! We started it our with a run in River Park followed by some relaxing time helping our family work on a puzzle. Jasper mainly snuggled close by. On Saturday morning, Jasper & Teddy got an adventure in Bowmont Park where there were lots of fun trails to roam. We followed this up with a trip to Euphoria Cafe for a Harry Potter hot chocolate. The boys got treats and did not indulge in the cocoa. The rest of the day had some backyard time and of course, some attention from the rest of the family. On Sunday, Jasper got lots of boy time so I could go x-country skiing with my group. He loves his regular runner Ryan and had fun at the nearby park doing tandem snow rolls with Teddy. Jasper has an open invitation to stay over as he is just the best guy to spend the weekend with. We miss you already!

DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: DURATION: 1 hour 8 minutes It was a great run with Kali today, as always! Our pacing was a little slower than usual, Kali had lots of interesting smells to sniff. It was a peaceful run, Kali and I mostly had the sidewalks to ourselves. Kali was happy to be out and enjoying the sun. She couldn’t contain her excitement and she had to do a couple of bunny hops. Kali was very well-mannered on our run, and was an excellent listener. The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Dru DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 5 km ,4 DURATION: 54 minutes Ack! That was our reaction to the weather.... Due to unforeseen circumstances, Charlie and I haven’t seen each other in quite some time. It was a most delightful reunion! First order of business today was a rather lengthy game of (yes - you guessed it) STICK TOSS! When we both had enough of that wind, the two of us decided to take cover and hit the mighty trails. We ran into some old friends. Forgive me I had a brain toot ( just trying to keep it PG) and I forgot their names but we had a nice visit. We carried on trying to stay sheltered from the wind. We saw another old friend Miss M. (Moose). She was just hanging out having a snack. After that, we moseyed on back to the castle. That for BRIGHTENING my day Charlie! I sure did miss you my friend. 1 poo and several pees. CHEERS! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Rise and shine, Marley! We’re both glad to see the weekend approaching. Marley slipped on the ice earlier this week, so we made sure to keep an eye on his legs and paws. For the most part, he did very well, but was quite fatigued by the 40-minute mark. At that point, we slowed our pace and took in the scenery and focused less on speed. Even though Marley was feeling some aches and pains towards the end, his spirit still remained positive and he had a big smile on his face! The Scoop 1 poo, multiple pees. Runner: Lucia DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 8K DURATION: 1 hour 8 minutes The best way to end a week is a morning run with the Gibs and Toki. We managed to make it out before the snow and all three of us went up into the hills to watch the storm approach from the mountains. After dropping Gibs off, Toki and I thought about going down to the stairs by the river. Toki jumped out of the way for another dog and snagged her coat on the fence. I managed to makeshift the hip strap to keep it closed but we decided to stay close to home. We went back up into the hills and tried the neighbourhood stairs but they were covered in snow. I hope the girls stay cozy this morning and the jacket is an easy fix. The Scoop: Gibs had 1 poop, many pees. Toki had 0 poops, many pees. Runner: Tara DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 5.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute We have the weekend feels today! It felt like a party from the get go with Jasper and Teddy on this Friday outing. We did a change of scenery and I drove Jasper to River Park where we played along the river's edge. Jasper and Teddy found a stick and chased each other to see who could own that stick. It was a 50-50 so there was so good sharing. This chase stirred up the geese along the river so it was pretty exciting. We then made our way winding back and forth through various wooded trails with the objective of just keeping to our pack. The boys did play with one dog for a minute or so and then we were on our way with our party of three. The wind was chilly and the sky started to get dark so we wrapped the walk up with some breaks in the snowbank before heading back to the car. The Scoop: 1 poo and several pees for Jasper. Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 5.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 37 minutes Today was all about ‘Footing’. Sometimes not enough of it and other times really not enough of it!! It all started with Huxley’s routine hug he always gives me. This time he wanted to give me my hug on the front step. The poor boy lost his footing and tumbled down two steps. Oh my! All was good and we had a hug on level ground. The next foot/feet situation happened when I was trying out new cream for Huxley and Aoifes’ paws. No problem with Huxley, but no way and NO how would Aoife stand still while her friends were waiting! Then, I had to put my Icebugs on so I would have better footing. Now, we can start to run. Huxley was our tour guide and with the dogs' 4-paw power, even their footing was challenged. The trail was solid ice. The slip factor was high but the fun factor with friends on max. Slow and steady was the turtle that won the foot race. The Doggy Business Report: multiple pees for all. Only Huxley had poop totalling 2 today. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 44 minutes I was under the distinct impression that Mona and Reilly aren’t the biggest fans of the WIND! They dropped a few subtle hints like staying close to the trees and snow mounds. Mona also tried to cut our adventure really short! Haha - nice try. I’m not a fan either but let’s all put our big girl pants on and just keep moving. And as soon as I said that, there was a stand off! The gals refused to move but, I being the Zen Master ( yea right) that I am. I knew exactly what this situation needed..... treats! Shocker I know but it worked (like it always does) and the three of us carried on until it was time to say adieu. Thanks for putting up with me today ladies! Way to go the extra mile! 3 poops for Reilly; 2 poops for Mona and several pees each. Cheers! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes What a lucky gal I am getting a little kiss from Buck today! We were both very excited to have some better weather today, and made our way along the river. We passed others who waved, and one person said “what a good looking dog”! Ain’t that the truth! I like to refer to Buck as a model, because I have yet to take a bad photo of him. He always is ready to strike a pose. I am so thankful for such an awesome running buddy! Every run is always fun and enjoyable with Buck. Cheers to warmer weather and great starts to the day! The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Kathleen DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute It was the best kind of mid-week run with Kahlua! The sun was shining but the air was still crisp and cold. Both of us thrived in this temperature. This poor gal did not enjoy running through puddles though, but it was inevitable. Her temperament towards other dogs has become so calm. When other pups approach her now, she doesn’t bark or lunge at them. She just looks at them with curiosity. We still keep to ourselves on the pathways. Here’s hoping for more runs like today! The Scoop: 2 poops, 2 pees. Runner: Lucia DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 5.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 15 minutes It seems like forever and ever since I have seen two of my favourite Yellow Labs: Kind Kenny and Silly Sully. Sully had been part of a new crew called the Blonde Boyzz (Sully and Huxley) so I thought I should bring more pups to this party. My dog Teddy and his brother Keno joined in the fun. First, I had a stroll with Kenny whose enthusiasm unfortunately does not match his senior status. In his mind, I think he thought we did a marathon and he was so darn happy! Next up was taking Sully to my house to get his partygoers and load them in the car to River Park. We had some play in the off-leash area but when Teddy and Keno became more focused on the ball, Sully became more focused on me. Several people told me that Sully must be in love with me. Time for a change of scenery and to find a few dogs who want to entertain Sullivan. I drove to the top of the park thus the distance is shorter than the 7.2 logged. Bingo, that did the trick. It was nice seeing the boys and chatting with their mom. The Scoop: 1 poop for Sully and both Kenny and Sully had 1-2 pees. Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 9.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 40 minutes These two hambones have the power to cure whatever ails ya! I was feeling out of sorts today and before I knew it my gal pals Mira and Nova made me forget about everything and life was good again. I wonder if they knew? I suspect Mira had some idea because she took it easy on me today. Nova has such a zest for life I wish we could just bottle that up and give it to those who need it the most! People wonder if angels walk amongst us... well I think they do - they just have 4 legs instead of 2. WHOA! That was deep wasn’t it? Even for me!?!? Anyways, we had a great time as always! Thanks for cheering me up ladies! Love ya to pieces🥰 1 poo and many pees for Mira; 3 pees for Nova. Cheers! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 10.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 17 minutes We laughed and we laughed.... It's always a good time with Sir Avi. He smiles constantly so he is easy to please. He is excited and happy to receive treats and head pats. He wanted no part of the big St Bernard we saw (seriously, his head was twice the size of mine) but he was loving up on the smaller pups. He was told he was 'beautiful' by a stranger and he smiled at me after she said it. I said 'Yes, it's true. You - most certainly are'. We added a little bit of distance at the end of our route today as I thought Avi might like an opportunity to just take down the pace and get his heart-rate down. Nope. He wanted none of that. It was just time to run for my friend today. Who can blame him, really? It felt like spring out there today! Until we meet again, kind sir. The Scoop: 17 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Cheryl DGR RUN OF THE DAY #7 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes This afternoon, Lyla took some coaxing to leave the porch. She was a little groggy as she has just woke up from a nap (according to her mom). Once we got going on our run and after an appropriate amount of belly rubs, Lyla set a lovely warm-up pace. She livened up her pace upon noticing the fresh snow and spotting some squirrels out and about. The faster running meant we did a bit longer distance and spent time cooling off by rolling in the fresh (but wet!) snow. We also found the tiniest door leading into the base of a big tree (see photo. Is it the home of a little gnome? The Scoop: 1 pee. Runner: Lauren DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 47 minutes Mona and Reilly were kicking it old school today! They were thumbing through the newspaper on our tour of the hood’. First we hit the sports section; tracking where the bunnies had gone. Next, was the real estate section; all about the yellow snow! Just to see if anyone was new in town. We cannot forget about the foodie section; the gals always like to check out what’s on the menu... there’s always duck otherwise I’d have a riot on my hands. After reading and rereading these pages, we finally made it to the entertainment part of the paper! This is the free range and party section of our adventure but my gal pals still took their time making sure they didn’t miss anything whatsoever! Just as we were about to turn the pages, a celebrity (Moose) had a paragraph on the very last page. Luckily for me, the gals didn’t notice her until they were reattached! Thanks for another excellent time ladies! Maybe I’ll hook us up with wifi next time and we can get through the news quicker! Just kidding! The Scoop: 3 poops for Reilly; 2 poops for Mona, and many pees each. Cheers! Runner: Tracy |
