DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9 km DURATION: 1 hour Kali was very happy to see me this afternoon. She was bouncing up and down. Kali was loving sniffing out some new scents and when we returned to running Kali wanted to do some sprints. For our route today, we explored a new loop and ended up near Mount Royal University. It was a fun adventure. On our run Kali and I both got surprised by a rabbit and did a little jump. Kali was very well behaved today. The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poop & +30 sniffs. Runner: Dru

DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 2.2 km DURATION: 35 minutes Good morning Miss Leia! Oh, it is cold today! Today, we went out just you and me. With no Conor with us, the walk was much more peaceful 😆😆 We went around the Heritage Park parking lot and did a loop around the neighbourhood. We took our time to take a couple photos to show our frozen hair. 😆 The Scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee. Runner: Fab DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 6K DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes Oh hello My Conor!! Looks like you may need an extra coat today because only one word can describe this morning and it is Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! We decided to take on the lower trail this morning. It was not as icy as the path. The sunlight was beautiful and we got to stop to take some awesome photos. It wasn’t an easy task as my glasses would fog up in couple seconds. I couldn’t see if the photo looked okay or not! We mixed some walk and trot. I always have to be cautious if I suspect some icier spots. It was a quiet outing. It looks like we were the only brave souls out there, but hey, this is the best way to keep distancing. Kopek and Conor enjoyed their outing. The Scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee. Runner: Fab DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 6 km DURATION: 1 hour 7 minutes We had a very happy run under the nice bright blue sky. It was cold when we began but quickly warmed up, As soon as we got out, Lucy was playing in the snow. She wanted to keep digging in the snow again and again, As a result, we had many stops. We met a few dogs on our path and Lucy wagged her tail to show her pleasantness every time. We did take a different path today and Lucy enjoyed the change. She posed for a photo every time I stopped. I managed to get a few nice shots that way. The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Muzna DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes Since Marley and I were running at an earlier time this morning, we had a beautiful sunrise throughout most of it! He is definitely a morning dog - could not be happier to be outside in the cold, fresh air first thing. We ventured around the reservoir; admiring the sunlight reflecting off the frosted trees and frozen water. His happy mood is so contagious. It’s hard not to smile during our time together. Marley had a little slip towards the end, but he didn’t seem bothered (just something to keep an eye on in the coming days). The Scoop: 2 poops, 3 pees. Runner: Lucia DGR RUN OF THE DAY #7 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.9 km DURATION: 53 minutes It was another chilly and snowy morning but Gibbons and Toki weren’t daunted at all! When I first arrived a very sleepy Toki was still in bed and it looked like it would just be Gibbons going out initially, but Toki decided she couldn’t miss out on the action and hopped out of bed to go out. Gibbons led the way again and fearlessly blazed the path forward! She had a good time searching the snow for new smells and found a very interesting something buried in the snow that she wanted to roll around in, but of course we couldn’t do that! Rolling in smelly things, unfortunately for Gibbons, is not in our daily agenda. After going for 20 minutes we dropped Gibbons off and Toki and I continued on. She did really well to get a decent distance in despite the less than ideal conditions! It was such a peaceful morning to run, with everyone sticking indoors making it really quiet out. Not everyone is as brave as Gibs and Toki! The Scoop: 2 pees for Gibbons, 1 pee for Toki. No poops to report today. Runner: Dan DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 42 minutes What a delightful day for herding turtles (she says with a hint of sarcasm). The three of us hit the streets with enthusiasm but it slowly died and the gals decided it was a great day to investigate all the yellow snow. But as soon as we made it to Party Central. Mona and Reilly shed their shells and had themselves quite a fantastic time running about! As luck would have it, their shells (turtle) were waiting for us at the end of the trail and we lallygagged our way back to the abode. Thanks for coming out today ladies! Pleasure as always! 2 poos for Reilly; 1 poo for Mona and a plethora of pees each. Cheers! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY #5 ![]() DISTANCE. 3.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Brrrrr.....then a nope I am staying with Mom. That was Marley’s first reaction when she got out. Yes, it is chilly and I don't blame you. I would like to hang out with your Mom too! A few treats and then realizing Huxley was waiting made the day all worthwhile to get a little excessive in. We did two loops so that we had easy access to the main trail back to the vehicle. Fun was had for all but it is time for a nap & snacks. The Doggy Business Report: several pees for both pups. Only Hux Pup pooped. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 10K DURATION: 1 hour 12 minutes I should have learned my lesson from my last run with Lyla. Lyla is a fast pup and she warm my heart so it seems I always overdress and finish the run in a big sweat even on cold days like today. Lyla started our outing with what I guess is her signature roll over and give me belly rubs move. Okay, you are adorable! We then headed towards Stampede Grounds along the pathway so Lyla could see all the wildlife which included geese, bunnies and magpies. Lyla stayed pretty focused and then found a stick to carry with her. She actually found a few sticks along the way but she definitely was more interested in bunnies than sticks. Thanks for heating things up today Lyla. Next run, I will wear shorts. Just kidding as today was -13C but boy was I warm. Have a lovely weekend Lyla. The Scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee. Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 28 minutes “Let’s Talk ” It may be grey today but the Blonde Boyzzz had to ‘talk’ and spread some smiles to everyone. We all have those days that are not great, some suffer longer and harder than just the day. I loved watching today on “Let’s Talk “ day how frowns melted and smiles appeared on so many faces on our run today. A few small steps with a big impact. “Let’s Talk” to our pets, our friends, our family. Let's all just keep talking. Thank you Huxley and Sully for spreading the word. The Doggy Business Report: Kenny had 2 pees that were all. Sully and Hux had 1 poop each and oodles of pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.7 km DURATON: 59 minutes Chilly days like today don't really affect a fluffy pup like Jasper so I bundled up and put on a smile. My dog Teddy joined us and we headed for a walk along the top pathway. I brought an orange ball for Teddy but early in the run he also found a yellow ball that he could not leave alone. To my surprise, Jasper picked up Teddy's orange ball to help him out. I have not seen Jasper play with a ball for awhile. He enjoyed carrying it and they were quite the cute pair. However, when Jasper found a stick that ball was a forgotten item. I guess he prefers sticks over balls. What a wonderful warm-up walk for my upcoming run with DGR Dog Lyla. It was wonderful to see you Jasper! The Scoop: 1 poop, a bazillion pees for both boys! Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Today is Bell Let’s Talk day, so I thought it would be nice to take a photo with Buck to help support and donate 5 cents to towards Canadian mental health initiatives! Go Buck! It was another cold and gloomy day, but we stuck to the sidewalks again, as even the small amount of new snow was slippery. When I first arrived, Buck wasn’t totally ready to get out running. In this cold weather, I don’t blame you! But we kept moving and had a great morning run! The Scoop: 2 pees, 0 poops. Runner: Kathleen DGR RUN OF THE DAY #5 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes The fun started even before the run did today. Rossi's Dad let Rossi out while I was walking up the yard and Rossi pretty much tackled me in joy! Is there anything better than an enthusiastic greeting from a loving dog!?! I think not. Our run was nice today. There was not too much wind and the fluffy snow was falling. It was a little icy in spots but overall, it was really good. Rossi seemed happier today with the lack of wind and we had no issues. The Scoop: 1 poop, lots of pees, Runner: Mark DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 28 minutes PAR-TAY! Well, did you expect anything else from Mira and Nova on a day like today? After all, they are two of the finest of the Northern breeds I’ve ever met and of course they REALLY LOVE THIS WEATHER!!! Wait a second, does that mean I’m a Northern breed too? I guess I am.... just not the finest and I’m not real crazy about our winters. Anyways, the three northerners partied our way down the hill and back up again with giant smiles on our faces! The gals made me forget all about the cold and it never fails every time I’m with my gal pals someone always asks where my sled is. I’m not going to lie sometimes I do wish I had one.😅 Thanks for a fun-filled morning adventure ladies! 1 poo and many pees for Mira; 2 pees for Nova. Cheers! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 5K DURATION: 44 minutes Is Gibbons a Snow Dog? I can't believe my eyes. Today, Gibs burst out the door suited up and ready to run. She was in full jog from the start. Toki and I could not believe our eyes but we happily made our way around the lake. We jogged and sniffed and Gibs was loving it. She did a full 20 minutes and then Toki and I went for a quick few laps around the hood to finish off. Estimated 5 km. What a snowy bliss with these snow angels. The Scoop: 0 poops for both girls and several pees each. Runner: Tara |
