Why should Dogs Run? I was asked this question on the weekend and have been coming up with a rather large list of reasons why. Abby & Reilly today totally solidified and reinforced my list not once today but 4 times in row. We came upon a very feisty terrier on a retractable leash out for a walk who lunged at us and the owner pulled up on the leash and this poor little guy was growling almost in mid air. Next was a super large pit bull taking his owner for a walk and stopped in a very aggressive stance off the pathway. Then there was pug who growled and snorted on his walk at us and lastly a golden doodle who snapped at Abby and lurched forward. With all 4 of these encounters which was a true anomaly, Abby, Reilly and I kept our pace, never was there a pull or growl from either Abby or Reilly. Our energy never reacted to any of these situations. Their tails wagged, tongues hanging out, ears relaxed and we all just kept running. 🐾Dogs love to run and it is so good for their mental health & confidence.
